With the temperature dipping below freezing and a lot of moisture in the air the frost washes the colour out of the landscape. It increases contrasts and enhances details, great for some photographic studies.

We walk Cooper along the new forest roads made for the timber trucks. We pass an abandoned caravan, locked up summer houses and rusty tractors. A lot of forest has been taken down and the landscape looks even more alien with the frost.
