Went to Lindholmen to walk Roxy and decided to go east instead of west and check out Jubileumsparken and the public sauna. The pool was closed for winter but the sauna was open and some brave, young vikings scuttled down the stairs to the showers in the change rooms in the bitter cold. A warm sun beamed down between big, white fluffy clouds but the ice on the water told how cold it really was. After a sauna it is possible to borrow and exchange books in the little glass library near the entrance to Allmänna Badet.

2 Mar 2016Hey Rik,
I agree with Claes, great pictures.
Wondering though why the sauna is in the middle of the river .Is the idea that you go into the sauna and then dive into the river from above? I don’t think I have ever seen a library / book exchange like the one shown in your Pix. I like that you chose to present these pictures in B&W and amazed you were able to walk about on the weekend and almost none is about. Cheers Rik.

5 Mar 2016I don’t think you can swim in the river. In the summer there is a pool that you can swim in. This time of the year you come down from the sauna and shower in the change rooms. The area is quite new and hidden away behind a bus garage and warehouses so I guess it hasn’t been discovered yet.
