We’re well into November now, probably the bleakest month of the year. The colours have blown off the trees and are decaying on the ground. There is a scent of curry and woodfire in the air, and it’s generally wet and rainy. Thick grey clouds blanket everything, hides the sun, and it’s impossible to tell the time of day without a watch.
Between the end of summer vacation and Christmas there are no public holidays in Sweden. Long weeks and short weekends. A slow and laborious plunge into darkness with no stops for rest. Just colder, darker, and wetter.
Inspired by this dreary gloom I started playing with filters in Photoshop and got into an analogue retro/nostalgia/horror feel on photos I have taken when walking Cooper around the neighbourhood. It’s mostly from the streets on Slottsberget in the early mornings, or late evenings. I wanted them to feel like they had been found in an attic in a dusty cardboard box left by a long forgotten photographer. If you look carefully there are modern cars and other signs that the pictures are no more than 4 years old bit they look like they’ve been lying around for century. What do you think? Post an comment.
