Day 8 – The Hansa city of Lübeck
The road to Lübeck is mainly off the autobahn. It’s a little slower but a lot more pleasant to drive. The weather is good, the scenery very rural, and flat. Google Maps guides us to some out of the way chargers. It seems they’re installed a bit randomely as part of the great European electrification program.
Eventually we find a Tesla Supercharger. This one is installed next to an indoor ski resort(!) – the Alpincenter Hamburg – Wittenburg Like all Tesla Superchargers there are plenty of vacant chargers and everything works smoothly, AND you can actually see what it costs BEFORE you start charging.
After we check into the hotel in Lübeck we wander in to the old town to find something to eat. We are unfamiliar and hungry and we go north instead of south where all the restaurants are. We find an Italian place, sit outside and enjoy a beer and a pasta. It’s not too bad, but not as nice as the places we pass later on our way back to the hotel. Oh well, next time we will know. It feels like this is a place we should come back to and explore, maybe in the autumn or winter.
Cooper meets an Irish Wolfhound on the way back to the hotel. Seemed to confuse him a little as she was a lot bigger than him.
