We are week short of the northern winter solstice and we desperately try to defeat the darkness with millions of LED lights. They adorn trees, balconies and windows everywhere. It’s like a competition, like everyone is trying hard to be more extravagant than their neighbour.
The Christmas decorations make the short days more bearable. I don’t think we’ve seen the sun for several weeks now. It’s out there somewhere behind the steel grey clouds. Hope it returns soon.
These are crazy times. The pandemic is upon us with full force filling up the intensive care units again. Everywhere you are reminded to keep social distance to other people and our hands are parched from constant washing and disinfectant. The virus is invisible so it’s an idea that we all have to buy into and respect. Some people seem to find that harder to accept than others.
