Cold Stockholm weekend

Cold Stockholm weekend

Booked an appointment at the Australian Embassy in Stockholm to renew my Aussie passport for another 10 years. Left home in Sannegården at 7 am in sub-zero temperatures, falling snow and icy roads. The snowfall grew more intense as we approached Jönköping and at one stage the traffic came to a halt while rescue crews pulled a truck out of a ditch. We made the appointment with 45 minutes to spare.

Stayed at Hotel Kung Carl near Stureplan on Birger Jarlsgatan. Small but comfortable rooms and a great breakfast buffet.

Spent time with my dear cousins, one of whom is battling serious illness. Lovely to see them all, just  wish the circumstances were not so terrible.

The weekend was cold. Saturday was grey and overcast. We visited to the Photographic Museum in the morning, Waldermars Udde after lunch, and the cousins in the evening. Sunday the sun shone and we walked around Skeppsholmen before pointing the car towards Göteborg, stopping at Gyllene Uttern for lunch.
