It’s the final week before the summer vacation. Ahead are four weeks of sleeping late, and doing your own thing, and thinking your own thoughts.
After a good start in May and early June, summer anxiety has set in as the weather has been anything but stable. We fear a summer like the last one – wet, windy and too cold for swimming. There has been some warm and pleasant moments, but there has also been a lot of rain and wind. The rain comes in bursts, intense showers, often with thunderstorms, and the gusty winds rearrange the furniture on the terrace.
On a positive note, clouds add drama. They make for stunning sunsets and dramatic backgrounds to familiar objects. With some slight tweaking you can enhance the drama and create captivating images of otherwise mundane scenery.
Cooper often sits and watches the hood from the terrace. He follows other dogs walking in the street below, and he seems to recognise ones that he knows. He hates the huge seagulls and the crows that land on the terrace to drink from his water bowl and throws himself at them barking madly to scare them away. Cooper and I minded Nicolina’s and Pontus’ dachshund, Hagrid, one day. Got a portrait of him sitting on the couch with the light coming from behind.
Let’s hope there will be some good swimming weather in the coming weeks, and some more stunning sunsets.
