Work took me to Greensboro in North Carolina at the end of February. Unusually warm days, and cold, and torrential rain and thunderstorms, all in the space of less than 2 weeks.
Some colleagues from Göteborg also came across and together we spent the weekend touring Old Salem in Winston Salem, and hiking up Stone Mountain in the states north west. Both days were sunny and clear though a lot cooler on Sunday. Topped Sunday with a fantastic Mexican meal in the small town of Sparta near the border to Virginia authentically prepared and served on styrene plates with plastic cutlery. We detoured and took in a section of the magnificent Blue Ridge Parkway on the way back to Greensboro.
