The Fleurieu Peninsula south of Adelaide is an area of rolling hills, clusters of gum trees, and steep cliffs leading in to a clear, turquoise ocean. It’s a part of the world that I love very much, and where I spent time when I lived in Adelaide many years ago.
To be back here for a visit is emotional and every sound, smell and sight brings back memories and a longing to return.
The property at Hay Flat near Normanville has magnificent views, some real bush, lots of kangaroos, and cockatoos, and a few snakes and spiders. The smell of dry grass and eucalypt, and the sound of a magpie warbling makes my Aussie heart bleed.
Second Valley and Cape Jervis are spectacular bits of coastline and places where I long to spend more time then the few moments I managed on this visit.
Enjoy the photographs.
